South Gate Art Walk

On Saturday, October 2, 2021, we had the opportunity to serve as a program partner for the first annual South Gate Art Walk. We had a wonderful time connecting with the young creatives and families who visited our booth and working alongside other local arts organizations, such as SELA Artists Guild, Art Space HP and Budding Artists (to name a few!). The day was bursting with joy and excitement in celebration of the arts, creativity and community.

At our booth, we set up our artisan shop, featuring locally made goods and small-batch fine art prints, and provided a free workshop station for our visitors. Our good friend and locally renowned artist, Polaris Castillo, offered onsite guidance and inspiration for our watercolor workshop, which featured three of his personally selected original designs. Participants used their watercolors to “color in” their favorite design and add their own unique creative touches.

With the support of our donors, we were able to distribute over 100 watercolor sets and brushes to the children, families and community members that visited our booth.

A big thank you to The South Gate Museum for organizing this event for our SELA community and for inviting us to participate as a program partner. We look forward to next year!
