We believe that the continued funding of Stay Gallery is an issue that the community has a right to speak on. If you have been positively impacted by Stay Gallery, have a personal story you want to share, or simply believe that arts access is essential for our community – we need your support!

WHAT TO EXPECT
We will be meeting in front of City Hall @ 6:00pm and walking into the council chambers together at 6:30pm. During the city council meeting, there is a window for community members to make public comment. This will be your opportunity to voice support for Stay Gallery and share your story!
You are also not obligated to make public comment; just being present during the meeting speaks volumes!
Things to keep in mind
Your public comment must be under 2 minutes.
Total public comment is limited to 30 minutes, but city council can extend the timeframe. If they choose to limit public comment, it is possible that you may not have the chance to speak. Our hope is that city council will afford everyone the opportunity to make public comment.
HOW TO PREPARE
Please RSVP to the event help us with headcount and sign our petition. If you want to prepare your public comment beforehand, feel free to download our template and instructions below. We recommend bringing a hard copy of your public comment to the city council meeting and emailing it to Downey city council, in the instance public comment is limited by council members.
