Stay Young! Art Classes

Terms & Policies

Artist Agreement

All students are expected to follow our artist agreement. By following this agreement, we can create a fun, supportive, and inspiring environment for everyone!

  • Treat fellow artists, teachers and staff with kindness and respect.

  • Appreciate everyone's unique artistic expression and creativity.

  • Use positive and encouraging language when interacting with others.

  • Do my best to not waste, take care of my supplies, and use tools responsibly.

  • Keep my workspace clean and organized to help keep a tidy environment.

  • Follow instructions carefully and ask questions if I need help or clarification.

  • Talk to a teacher if I am feeling frustrated or upset so they can help us.

  • Put my electronic devices away, unless I am using it to work on my art project.

  • Be respectful of the artwork on the walls. Use my eyes, not my hands, to interact with artwork.

Cancellations & Refunds

Camps – Cancellations must be made seven (7) days before the start of camp for a full refund to be issued. No refunds will be provided for no shows or cancellations made within seven (7) days of the start date. Please keep in mind that last-minute cancellations prevent other students from participating in our camps.

Monthly Classes – Cancellations must be made three (3) days before the start of the first class for a full refund to be issued. No refunds will be provided for no shows or cancellations made within three (3) days of the start date.

Drop-Ins – Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of class for a full refund to be issued. No refunds will be provided for same day cancellations or no shows.

Emergency Circumstances – We understand that unforeseen emergencies may prevent a student from attending or completing a class. Cancellation requests that fall outside the above policies will be considered on a case by case basis, with any refunds provided in the form of class credit. Please contact hello@stayarts.org for questions.

Stay Gallery reserves the right to cancel, modify or reschedule classes with low sign ups or for unforeseen circumstances. Students will be notified at least 24 hours notice and a make-up class will be scheduled or refunds/credits will be provided.

COVID-19 Policies

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. Please have your child stay home if they are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

  • Face masks are strongly encouraged inside.

  • Students are recommended to be vaccinated and boosted.

  • Hand-sanitizer stations will be accessible throughout the space.

  • Frequent cleaning and disinfection before, during and after classes.

If your child tests positive for COVID-19 after visiting Stay Gallery, please contact our team at (562) 774-2056 so that we can implement COVID-19 safety procedures and contact exposed students and staff to limit further spread.

Electronics Policy

Phones and digital tablets are only allowed during class or camp for emergency or educational purposes. Educational purposes may include finding reference photos for an artwork they want to create, looking up a character they want to draw, etc. Students need direct permission from our teaching artists to use their phone or digital tablet for educational purposes.

If a student uses their phone or tablet for unapproved activities (watching unrelated videos, playing games, texting), they will receive a warning. If they continue to use their phone or tablet after the warning, it will be taken away for the remainder of the class/camp and returned at dismissal.

Students are welcome to text or call their family with permission from the teacher, or during snack or lunch breaks. Campers are allowed to use their devices during extended day, though we encourage them to make art and play games with other students. We are not responsible for any electronics that are lost or damaged.

Photo Release

Stay Gallery may photograph or record classes for promotional purposes, including but not limited to, flyers, brochures, websites, social media, and advertisements. By participating, parents or guardians grant us permission to use photographs, videos or recordings of their child for these purposes.

Liability Waiver

While we take every precaution to ensure the safety of our students, participation in our classes and camps may involve inherent risks.

Parents and guardians agree to release, waive and hold harmless Stay Gallery and our organization, its staff, volunteers, or affiliates from all liability, claims, penalties, costs, losses, damages, expenses or judgements resulting from illness, injury, death or damage from participation in our classes and camps. These terms of service are governed by the laws of California. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be resolved through arbitration in accordance with the rules of California.
