On Saturday, August 13, 2022, we had the opportunity to host a booth at the 2nd Annual Downey PRIDE Family Picnic. The event featured live entertainment, DJ’s, free food, and 40+ vendors organized by Angel City Market. Back by popular demand, we provided a free watercolor workshop in collaboration with our good friend and local watercolor artist, Polaris Castillo, and organized a small, pop-up art exhibition featuring the work of local LGBTQ2S+ artists. Throughout the day, we distributed over 200 watercolor sets to children, families, and community members!

A big thank you to Downey Pride and L.A. CADA for hosting this event. We had such a blast and are looking forward to next year!

Stay Arts (formerly Downey Art Vibe) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging, connecting and empowering communities in the City of Downey and Southeast Los Angeles through the arts, creative exploration and cultural expression. Our mission is to provide access, visibility and resources in the arts for local artists, youth and families through community-led programming and creative experiences. For over a decade, we have operated our programs from Stay Gallery, a community art gallery and creative space located in Downtown Downey.
