Learn about the field of earth art by recreating your own miniature Spiral Jetty sculpture (a famous earth installation created by artist Robert Smithson). Go on a virtual “trip” to Utah’s Great Salt Lake to visit the Spiral Jetty through imaginative and mindful exercises! Use your own supplies from home or add an optional art kit.

Don’t have these supplies at home? Add an optional art kit for $5 upon sign up. Art kits will be available for pick up at Stay Gallery on Tuesday, April 6 from 12 – 4pm. Art kit for this workshop includes:
Natural colored paper

Meet our teaching artist
Jacqueline Alvarino
Jacqueline is a Southern California mixed media artist. She is well known for her rhythmic layering, use of unusual media and preference for vibrant colors. Her unconventional methods of abstract painting and collage work provide her with the vehicle to channel her inner psyche onto the canvas. She has displayed her collections throughout Los Angeles and Orange County including the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, Muckenthaler Cultural Center, Fullerton College, and Stay Gallery.
Jacqueline started the Jac Alva Art studio in 2018 and has created interactive on-site and virtual classes with students of all ages via Healing He(art) with Jac Alva Art.
