DFEO Wellness Expo

On Saturday, May 21, 2022, we were invited by Downey Foundation of Educational Opportunities (DFEO) to lead a free watercolor workshop for their end-of-year wellness expo at Doty Middle School. Our good friend and local artist, Polaris Castillo, offered onsite guidance and inspiration for the workshop. Students and family members used their watercolors to “color in” pre-made designs of artworks featuring themes of nature and native wellness. Throughout the day, we distributed over 100 watercolor sets to Downey Unified students and families.

El sábado 21 de mayo de 2022, la Fundación Downey de Oportunidades Educativas (DFEO) nos invitó a dirigir un taller de acuarela para su evento de bienestar en Doty Middle School. El artista local, Polaris Castillo, brindó guía e inspiración para el taller. Los estudiantes usaron acuarelas para "colorear" diseños prefabricados de obras de arte que presentaban temas de la naturaleza y el bienestar nativo. A lo largo del día, distribuimos más de 100 juegos de acuarelas a los estudiantes y familias del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Downey.
